3 Simple ways to practice gratitude

Here are three simple ways to practice gratitude:

1. Keep a Gratitude Journal: Each day, write down three things you are thankful for. This can be anything from simple pleasures like a good cup of coffee (my personal favourite), the roof over your head, to a person in your life. Reflecting on the good things in your life can help shift your focus to the positive and cultivate a sense of gratitude. The more good you choose to see, the more good you will see.

2. Express Gratitude to Others: Take the time to thank people who have made a positive impact in your life. Whether it’s through a handwritten note, a phone call, or a simple compliment, expressing gratitude to others can deepen relationships and spread positivity. I like to take the time to look someone in the eyes and allow them to really feel your words and appreciation.

3. Practice Mindfulness: Pay attention to the present moment and appreciate what is happening right now. Take a few deep breaths, focus on your senses, and notice the small things around you that bring you joy. Whether it’s the sound of birds, the smell of coffee, or the feeling of the sun on your face. Remember you are a human “being”. Simply stopping can help you to remember and appreciate your true nature.
