1. Creative play: Spend some time doing something that you loved (or maybe missed out on) as a child, such as playing with toys, games, colouring, or building with Legos.
2. Creative writing: Journal freely as your inner child and allow them to express themselves openly and without judgement. Another option is to write a letter to your inner child, expressing your love and appreciation for them. Offer them comfort and reassurance.
3. Meditation: Close your eyes and imagine yourself as a child. Visualise yourself in a safe, nurturing environment, and focus on the feelings of joy, freedom, and wonder that you felt or would have liked to have felt.
4. Movement: Dance, skip, jump, or do something physical that helps you tap into your inner child’s energy and playfulness.
5. Nature: Go outside and spend some time in nature. Climb a tree, play in the rain, or simply lie on the grass and look at the clouds.
By being patient and kind to yourself, you’ll be able to nurture this important aspect of yourself and experience more happiness and fulfillment in your life.
This can be paired with a deep dive into your inner child with a professional coach or therapist.
