My Philosophy

As a coach, my approach is deeply influenced by the principles of humanistic psychology. I deeply believe that my clients have the tools, skills and resources within for long-term transformation. I focus on my clients unique journey, values, struggles, dreams, and visions to help them integrate their unique human experience.

Sam is a master at what he does. One of the things I appreciate so much is that he’s done his own deep work, and so he’s able to help create deep transformation fast.”

At the heart of my coaching practice lies the belief in self-actualisation—a concept central to humanistic psychology. By understanding ones inner motivations, strengths and passions, we can start to understand the why. Unconsciously we are guided by our deepest motivations and by bringing these into the light (through shadow work, unconscious work etc), we can start to work with our inner guidance system and not against it. This is a key component to living a fulfilled, graceful life. By facilitating a safe space where my clients can reflect on their lives and dreams, I support them in identifying what truly matters to them and how they can align their actions with their deepest desires.

“Yesterday felt like a big reset, affirmation and crystal clarity.

I see my clients in their wholeness. In fact, I support and encourage the belief and deep understanding that “you’ve got this”. That is where my modality differs from many modern day coaches. This means we are not just addressing the “problem” at hand, or the “goal”, but going straight to the core. Giving my clients multiple tools to supporting themselves in mastering their entire lives. This blueprint can then be transferred onto all areas, be it relationships, emotional mastery, over coming past shame or traumatic events, money goals etc.

Get to know yourself deeply

I believe that change comes from within. The inside out method. My coaching style is grounded in this deep belief. That doesn’t mean that we don’t make external changes to our lives, we do. But, it’s about making those changes deep within so it “sticks”. The basis of this belief is that life is a subjective experience. Therefore I engage in deep conversations and use deep techniques to help my clients uncover their innermost thoughts, feelings and perceptions. This helps them identify patterns, beliefs, feelings and blockages that are holding them back from achieving their goals.

The integrated human experience is about integrating all of you, to become your best self, today.

I encourage my clients to confront the fundamental questions of life. What does it mean to me to be alive? Questions about meaning, freedom, isolation, mortality, purpose. The “who am I really?”.  The doorway to awakening. I believe this should be a slow process and honour the waves of expansion and contraction. This is why my program is based around “slowing down to speed up.”

“Honestly Sam, you have been a great support, when people don’t understand the spiritual side and I just needed some understanding and reframing.”

I’m against the idea that people are only their behaviours. This is why I challenge my clients to see their own humanity, and foster a space of introspection, self-reflection and the exploration of ones own inner world. This helps my clients gain their own clarity, and gives them the power back. “What are my choices, and what do I choose?”. This allows my clients to position themselves in the world, authentically. Authentic expression is a fundamental piece of living a peaceful, fulfilled existence.

I was first introduced to this model whilst studying with the Red Cross in Germany, and immediately felt this was the missing piece to my story. Before this, I felt a big disconnect with modern day coaching and mindset work that was solely based on affirmations, behavioural change and what I call, the band-aid approach to change. I knew that deep transformation came from within. You can read more about my journey here in my about me section.

The integrated human experience incorporates these humanistic principles, thus creating a supportive environment for my clients to embark on a transformative journey towards self discovery, freedom, and personal growth. It’s about not just achieving external results, but knowing why they are important to you and actually feeling the importance when you do.
